Francis Jocky - Sanctified

Francis Jocky's terrific songwriting talent is brought out wonderfully in these somber pieces, namely "Meant to last," "Sanctified," (with only acoustic guitar) and "Your way." Yes, without doubt – Francis Jocky is deep and I was hugely impressed by the CD from the Beginning to the end. It has a folky/poppy/soulfulness that to me is a great step up from the processed pop that has dominated the charts in recent years.

This is a great disc though for anyone who loves good soulful pop songs. Francis Jocky has a beautiful, soulful voice, It has a quality that makes anything he sings genuine and real. His voice sounds like a cross between Seal (but with more energy) Stevie Wonder and Keb’Mo. There is something about his voice, and the feeling that seems to come behind the bluesy lyrics that just touches you and makes you really want to listen.

The art direction is superb, and contributes greatly to the album as a whole even if it’s only an EP. This album really has the feel of personal truth, through soul rock-solid and imaginative music.

A simple incredible album and If you like mellow music to enjoy during a snowy day or a rainy day or you are feeling down, this album is great..
